Into the Darkness
Last night we went home, ate, and gamed.
The party began where they left off, exploring a farmstead. (They had climbed out of a long tunnel through a dry well and discovered this idyllic setting, complete with farmhouse, barn, paddock, and horses.) They explored a little and found almost nothing of interest other than a cache of coins and some enchanted clothing. They discussed options, and decided to go back through the tunnel to explore the side passage they had found. The smaller members of the group (Jebidoh the gnome cleric, Jillian the halfling rogue, and Jim the dwarven fighter) entered the tunnel, which was three feet wide, four feet tall, and sharply sloped. Everything went fine until the clay tunnel met with a rivulet of water, making the clay slick and treacherous. They decided to rejoin the rest of the party, leaving the bottom of the tunnel unexplored; Jim used his knowledge of digging to collapse the head of it without damaging the passage they were actively using.
The party began hiking back towards where they had initially entered this tunnel, where the mercs were taking care of Cap and presumably preparing to assault the Temple again. With a flash of light, they found themselves suddenly on a great white plain.
They stood before a hugely muscular man with a red beard and long red hair, wearing a fighting girdle made from a red dragon's hide, gauntlets from a white dragon's hide, and boots from a blue dragon's hide. A huge greatsword rode at his hip. Daisy referred to him as The Big God Man, and Jebidoh greeted him as Kord. He explained to the party that Daisy had asked him to do them a favor, and he was inclined to grant it. She had asked him to translocate them to a location inside the Temple, to a place from which they could strike at the heart of the evil. And he would take them there ... as we begin the next session. (Technically, Daisy asked Kord to do what Anasha asked him to do, and he gave her choices, and she asked him to allow her to discuss the options with the entire party, and they made a group choice. But I'm the DM, so I can edit the proceedings as I need.)
Tonight and tomorrow night we have no plans - though I might have to buy pants. We've got Stargate to watch and at least three episodes of Burn Notice, plus enough BBC tv to choke a horse. Or, um. Something like that.
